Boil Water Notice Rescinded for Community Public Water Systems

On February 6, 2018, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the City of Southside Place public water system, PWS ID No.1010023, to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals, or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

Due to the new City of Houston water line feeding the Southside Place water plant, there is a potential that contaminants entered the system during construction. City personnel sampled drinking water in the system yesterday afternoon. Those samples were found to have no harmful bacteria. City crews flushed water distribution lines yesterday afternoon and last night. The public water system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by this public water system used for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of 11 a.m. on February 7, 2018.

If you have any questions concerning this matter, you maycontact the City's Public Works Supervisor or the City Manager at 713-668-2341.
